A wonderful story from ABC Darwin highlighting the power of music in aged care and dementia support through Darwin’s dementia-friendly choir.

Music has an extraordinary way of reconnecting people with memories, emotions, and one another — often in ways few other things can. Those familiar songs from years gone by can still light up faces, start conversations, and bring joy and belonging to people living with dementia.

This is such important work and a lovely reminder of why music matters so much.

We would also like to acknowledge the Dementia Alliance Darwin, whose initiative and support helped bring this wonderful dementia-friendly choir project to life.
