Music makes a world of difference to the elderly

Aged Care Music Resources

A Personal Message from Aged Care Music Resources

We’re closing on June 30, 2026

For many years, Aged Care Music Resources has had the privilege of supporting aged care professionals across Australia—helping bring music, engagement and connection into the lives of older people.

Sharing these music resources with aged care professionals over many years

We’ve worked alongside Diversional Therapists, Lifestyle and Activities staff, Managers, Music Therapists, and carers—creating practical, age-appropriate music resources that support real-world care.

What began as a simple idea grew into something much more meaningful. Along the way, we’ve seen firsthand how music can uplift, calm, reconnect and bring joy—especially for those living with dementia. Knowing that our resources have played even a small part in that has been deeply rewarding.

As I write this, I’m now 78, and the time has come to make a difficult decision.

Quite simply, time is no longer on my side. While the work has always been fulfilling, it is no longer practical for me to continue building and supporting the business in the way it deserves.

So, Aged Care Music Resources will be closing on June 30, 2026.

This is not an easy moment. These resources have been carefully created over many years, and it would genuinely break my heart to see them go to waste. My hope instead is that they continue to be used—bringing enjoyment, engagement and comfort to the people they were designed for.

For that reason, all remaining music resources are now being made available at cost price—simply covering GST, packaging and postage—until stock is cleared.

If you have ever considered adding to your music resources, or would like to ensure you have materials available for the future, this is an opportunity to do so.

The one exception is the Green Songbook Collection, which may continue on under new ownership. There has been interest in taking this forward, and it is my hope that it will enjoy a long future beyond my involvement.

To everyone who has supported this work over the years—thank you.

Your commitment to the wellbeing of older people is extraordinary, and it has been an honour to contribute in some small way to the care and connection you bring to others every day.

However you have used these resources, I hope they have helped create moments of joy, reminiscence, and comfort—and perhaps, from time to time, the simple pleasure of singing.
